The stroke and the extension of the needle

The stroke and the extension of the needle are very important in the pigmentation using mechanical devices (PMU machines).

Research shows that the best needle stroke in permanent make-up treatments is 2.5 mm;  the greater the stroke, the greater the force of inserting the needle into the tissue – remember that when making permanent makeup, we work at a maximum depth of 0.50 mm (face skin).

The needle slide determines the amount of pigment applied to the needle. While the needle slide in the device, it should ensure work in a clean treatment area.  If the slide is too low, it puts too much pigment on the needle, creating a “pool” where the pigment from the needle holds back (makes it difficult to insert the pigment into the tissue).

The correct extension of the needle ensures work in a clean treatment area, the appropriate amount of pigment is inserted so that the treatment lasts shorter, which in turn results in the absence of swelling and tearing of the pigmented tissue.  We can observe how do we work.

The needle stroke in the permanent makeup device is constant and it’s 2.5 mm, while the slide is variable, it can be adjusted depending on the needs.
